I was really impressed by the news about Bill and Melinda Gates
and Warren Buffet's combined gift of over $60,000,000,000 (that's
sixty BILLION dollars) to fight some of the world's biggest health
and educational problems over the coming years.
The money will be used to fight such things
as malaria, AIDS, and hunger, particularly in less affluent areas of
the world, as well as assisting under-funded schools and libraries,
even here in the USA.
In the long run, the benefits could promote a great deal more
good than the far greater multi-billions of dollars thrown into the
sinkhole of war and killing.

Just think what could happen if the money spent in waging
war were spent instead on helping Middle Eastern and African
nations develop, build schools, hospitals, farms, fight disease, etc.
Think of the lives of the various fighters and innocent civilians
saved and the hatred replaced by good will. Perhaps the
Islamic world would have a far different opinion of the so-called
Christian nations. I know I would.
Anyway, it was some good news for a change from those who have
wealth! May their tribe
increase!
There are some wars worth fighting.
